Feminist Portraits on Display

Here is a terrible cellphone snapshot of some of my work on display yesterday!
The images are some of the feminist portraits that I have been working on for a project for my Portraiture class. As I do more work on them in the coming weeks I will post actual images. Here is the brief artists statement I posted with the project:

Feminist Portraits by Elizabeth Wilmerding

Feminist Portraits is a series of images depicting self-identified feminists. The men and women in these portraits believe in the ideals behind the feminist movement and are not afraid to stand up for their beliefs. These people are the faces of equality and outstanding role models for our society on local and global levels.
Digital inkjet prints.

Elizabeth Wilmerding is a photography student living in Bozeman, MT. She is interested in using photography as an avenue for social change. Elizabeth uses both digital and analog photography techniques. She employs digital methods as well as many alternative processes when producing her work.

They were on display at MSU all day for the Take Back the Night event sponsored by the Students Against Sexual Assault group. I am involved with SASA and their affiliate, the VOICE Center, which provides options to students struggling with issues related to sexual violence. For more info on both groups as well as the TBTN event go to www.sasamsu.webs.com (of which I happen to be one of the primary editors).
