More Scotland

A statue in Glasgow outside the Gallery of Modern Art.

After years of black and white photography, I am finally beginning to notice color and how it can add to a photograph. This was a boat in the harbor with the Royal Yacht Britannia. http://www.royalyachtbritannia.co.uk/history/gallery/1/ for those of you who are interested.

Not one of my favorites...  Street shooting in Edinburgh.

Another shot on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. We ate at the White Hart Inn right near where this shot was taken. It's a pub that has been around since at least the 1500's.

The edge of Edinburgh Castle.

This is a view from the balcony of the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh. I wanted to see the Camera Obscura again because the first time I went I was too young to really understand why it was interesting. Having spent this semester learning the early history of photography I was able to really appreciate the magic of it.

On our way to Dunnotar Castle. We parked in the town of Stonehaven and hiked a few miles away to the ruins. But more of that later.

Another view of Stonehaven, this time showing some of the harbor. After the castle we ate lunch on the harbor.

More of the Stonehaven Harbor. I like the reflection in this shot but the composition is obviously lacking.

A silhouetted World War Two memorial on the way to Dunnotar Castle.

Dunnotar Castle.

The harbor next to Dunnotar Castle.

I have some more editing to do and am also working on a panoramic of Dunnotar castle and the surrounding sea/landscape.

  1. Love the WWII Memorial photo. Fabulous silhouette, the sky adds great drama!
